They ate it!

Jul 16, 2007
I did it, I managed to have them eat vegetables. Does it really count though, because they don't really know what they ate?

My stepsons don't really enjoy vegetables much. They enjoy junk food most of all and would prefer to eat it daily. The oldest is the most difficult eater. If he has never tried something he automatically doesn't like it.

Today I wanted to eat a veggie pasta. I wanted them to eat veggies too, but knew they wouldn't eat what I wanted to make. I stirfried onions, a little yellow bell pepper a few carrots and some celery, added some canned tomatoes and some herbs and spices. When it was all sufficiently done I pulled out my food processor and processed it all into a smooth sauce.

After cutting up and frying some organic hot dog chunks in olive oil I added the sauce to the pot, along with some tomato paste. The whole thing was a tad too acidic and required some sugar and milk to cut that down a bit. That sauce was mixed with some elbow macaroni and served with some cheese.

They enjoyed it and ate it. I'm going to try and be a bit more creative in sneaking certain veggies in. It's not easy to cook tasteful meals when my hubby can't eat a bunch of food due to true medical issues! I used to take pride in being a creative cook, but have lost some self confidence living with all these carnivores!

Water Princess

Kate

My water princess. Last pic before the battery on the camera ran out. Mike took this pic.

She loves water. She loves it in the tub, the shower and now also in the kiddie pool outside. Don't look at the bottoms that are so charmingly big around her little tiny toddler butt.
